The end of TY :(

This week was our last full week of TY :(
We are currently very busy preparing for our TY Night on Monday, we are singing songs, dancing and doing presentations on different subjects, our parents are coming to see it.
On Wednesday we went on our last trip as a group to xtreme.ie. We went on Zip-lines, did archery and team building activities. It was a lot of fun and a great last trip.

On Monday we will be having our end of year service, followed by us setting up for our TY night. We're singing a mash up of Never Forget by Take That & Wavin' Flag by K'naan for music, for French we are singing the french version of Summer Paradise by Simple Plan and we are also doing a hip hop dance.

I really enjoyed TY and I'm going to miss it, it was a great experience but we all have a new chapter ahead of us, Leaving Cert.

Swim a Mile & Preparing for TY night

On Wednesday the 6th of May we went to the National Aquatic Center in Blanchardstown to take part in ''Swim a Mile with A Smile' in aid of child cancer care. People could swim a mile either in a group or by themselves. I was a counter who helped count the lengths that the swimmers did and I gave out water to whoever asked for it. It was a very successful day and afterwards we went to Blanchardstown shopping center for a couple of hours. The squad and I got Mc Donalds and looked around in the shops. After that we went home.

Friday was our last class of Hip Hop, we made the final touches to our dance routine for TY night, we are very busy preparing different things we are doing on the night such as songs, posters and projects to put on display for the parents and guardians.

This week is our last week of school before our Easter holidays, we're off for two weeks.
On Thursday night we had our annual Music Night in the school, different classes and musicians perform on the night. For the last three classes on Thursday we helped out with preparing the hall for music night, we stuck up the pictures of instruments and we also watch the performers rehearse.

On Friday we had Hip Hop, a dance teacher called Karen came in to teach us a routine for our TY graduation, it was really good fun.

Lollipop Day, Sci Fest and Selma.

On Friday the 27th of February we went into town to sell lollipops for Lollipop Day, it was a very sucessful day and we collected a lot of money for the oesophageal cancer fund.

On Friday the 6th of March we had the Sci Fest competition, we all had to set up our projects and explain the the judge what our project was about. After a long day of waiting we found out who got through, 15 projects got through which is very good, unfortunatly our project didn't get through but we enjoyed the experience.

On Tuesday the 10th of March we went to Vue cinemas in Liffey Valley to see Selma as part of our history course. Selma is about black people in America getting the right to vote, it was a really good film and I really enjoyed it.

Mini Company Final & Pancakes

On Thursday we had the final of our mini companies. We had to set up our display for the judges to see. Our product is ''Cache''. It is a mini coin purse with an attachable key chain on it,we called it Cache because it means to store something safely. The judges said our idea was really unique. We really enjoyed the experience that setting up a mini company had.

We also sold made and sold pancakes at lunchtime, in aid of The National Children's Hospital Tallaght. The pancakes were all gone in a matter of minutes and we're delighted that we raised money for a great cause, and also enjoyed eating the pancakes. We sold pancakes because pancake Tuesday is next Tuesday while we are on our midterm break.

Work Experience & Zumba

This week was my second last week of work experience, I'm doing it in Scoil Mochua in Clondalkin, it's a special needs school. I'm really enjoying it, it's great experience because I'm considering working with special needs children when I leave school. I get to see how they teach the children, and the different activities that they do to help the children develop their abilities. I got to see the speech and language therapist teaching the children ''Lámh''. Lámh is the Irish version of sign language, I already know a good few signs already because my little brother does it, but I learned a few new ones this week.

I also had Zumba this week. Zumba is a dance program, we basically copy everything the dance teacher does, its good fun and great exercise. Next week is our last week of it :(
We also have the final for the student enterprise competition (mini-company) we have to go up in front of the judges for three minutes and tell them about our product. We also have to make an eye catching display for our product.
